She say's she's in love
only because she's lied to herself
  lied about who he really is
She cant close her ears
so instead
she throws her arms over her head
  trying to block it
block it even in her sleep
the truth
  from entering her pores
  her arms
and it seems to work
  it never gets deeper than her strength
   her bones
because his name
  his words
are chiseled into her bones
and his touch blocks all the words
words that are thrown carelessly in her direction
        in her head
words that are telling her
   telling her to give him up
   telling her to stop before its too late
   telling her to let go now
     while she still has a say
because tomorrow she wont know if she does
  and it makes a person feel so helpless
     when they cant say stop
   so angry
     when all she can tell herself is there's nothing better
and they're scared for her
and she's scared of what the cost will be
   to give him up
   the cost of being alone
and they ask themselves
  when will she realize
she's more alone
    with him
  alone when he's not holding her hand
  alone when he's not sleeping by her side
  alone when he doesnt say a word all day
  alone because she notices
     when she never did before
