Heart to Heart

I need to warn you
about your new business
  breaking other people
     breaking other hearts
       breaking hers

One day it will stop
  this hard beating
    this warning you
when you clearly don't deserve it
  don't deserve a fair shot   
   don't deserve me
     don't deserve a heart

You will be ignored
talking to an empty chest
venting to stilled veins
   i won't be here to help you
   i won't help you mend
   i won't tell you when
     when it's the one
     when it's true

Your a heartbreaker
and if it weren't for me
   some might wonder
     if you had feelings
     if you had warnings
     if you had a heart
and i was there
   a helpless witness
     i could only hear her cries
       i felt when she gave you an inch of her's
           and you grabbed a handful

There will be a woman
                       a heart   
   one day soon
     and it will teach you
                    what it means to be taken unawares
        ill stay quiet
    she'll crush you into dust  
    and she'll sweep you away

She'll be fearless
   because that's what it will take
      that's all it could take
     to squash your naive resistance
           to let me free
